Anousheh Ansari is an Iranian-American engineer and entrepreneur who became the first woman of Iranian descent to travel to space in 2006.

She is also a noted philanthropist who founded the Ansari X Prize and supports a range of educational and humanitarian initiatives, including building schools in rural areas of Iran and promoting women's entrepreneurship.

Anousheh Ansari has received many honors and awards for her contributions to space exploration, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy. In 2010, she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame, and in 2015, she was named a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.

She has also received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Working Woman's National Entrepreneurial Excellence Award, and the Iranian-American Achievement Award, among others.
