Roohangiz Saminejad was an Iranian actress who is famous for playing the lead role of Golnar in Lor Girl (1934), which was the first Persian-language talkie film, making her the first Iranian film star in a talkie film.

Despite not being a professional actress, she was discovered by Abdolhossein Sepenta and cast in the film due to her unique look, though her strong Kermani accent required changes to the script.

She only appeared in one other film, Shirin and Farhad, and faced social ostracism and sexual harassment from men due to her career as an actress in the conservative culture of the time.

She had to change her name and lived in anonymity and seclusion.
